
I've had a former student of mine over from Bali to assist with installing some equipment. Wayan has 'geen fingers' when it comes to chemistry. He is methodical and thorough which is the secret to good science. We first met on an AusAID project in Bandung, Indonesia and I was very pleased when he chose to come and study with me in Australia.

I thought Wayan had a job in NUS as a research fellow. He went back to Bali after that? He hasn't changed abit since I last saw him, back in 1997. 10 years, that is a very long time...
No, he is timeless. Wayan did work at NUS and then NTU. They did offer him something more permanent at NTU but he has a senior job in Bali. I think we might see him again in Singapore, however.
