Dumpster diving in Sydney

I came across this photo from a recent trip to Sydney. A homeless guy was fishing in a charity bin in Darlinghurst. A group of street-people came past just after I snapped this photo and told the diver off for 'queue jumping'.

Dry as a pommie's towel

These are just a few photos from my 'hood of Highgate Hill. You can see we need a bit of rain! 'Neo's Pizzas' is an icon. The 'best pizza in Australia' award was made by themselves to themselves, but for its lack of authenticity it has still proved to be an effective marketing tool.

Day 18

Pretty neat eh? I wouldn't recommend heart-surgery as a recreational past-time, but the surgeons are skilled and it has become almost routine. Imagine what it will be like 20 years from now? When the hair grows back, I think this scar will be largely invisible. Twenty years from now, I doubt they will have to cut you. There has been one complication, however. I've spent the last few days having fluid drained from around my heart - 2 litres of it! I understand that this is not an uncommon problem. Fingers-crossed for an unremarkable recovery. I'm allowed to drive in another 2 weeks and should be fully healed in another two and a half months (end of June).
