While I prefer the Gold Coast, Southbank and Logan campuses of Griffith University, the Nathan Campus is set in Toohey forest with some interesting inhabitants. Unfortunately, they've become scavengers of human detritus.
I used to pass by Toohey Forest everyday on my commute from res to the lab. There was a sign at the edge of the forest that said that the community saved it from being cut down. Do you know anything about that bit of history? The forest looked more like the bush to me...
Sorry, I don't know anything about Toohey Forest, although I have often jogged through it on the network of walking tracks. It is quite diverse, but completely surrounded now by major roads so the wildlife is rather isolated.
